I would really like to see someone do a head-to-head comparision to see how much more you could get out of a DFI board versus a Asus board. 2-3% wouldn't be worth it but, if you could get <5% that would be interesting.

The one thing Asus does have in its favor is the physical layout of the board. Well, I can get a waterblock on the northbridge which is a good thing.
I've got the Asus board now and I'm already expecting the DFI to kill it especially when it comes to extreme overclocking... stock performance I don't know

The layout on the asus definitely has it's positives like space between the two vid cards, but I find the dimm slots too close to the first pci-e slot, when I'm switching dimms the clips hit my card....

Well, I've got some bad news. Can't get my board to boot. I've tried just about everything imaginable over the last several hours. I noticed I'm not getting any status light on my floppy drive. Gonna tear down and check the CPU on another motherboard.

Sorry to hear that! I'm sure myself and many others were looking forward to some of your opnions. Hope you can work things out... in the mean time I just got my hands on a Neo4 for Monday to try with my stock 850XTPE while I wait for my DFI....

Just tested the CPU on another board. Fortunately the chip still is alive.

Hey Sierra, sorry to hear about the bad luck. You might want to read this thread in case it effects your board.

Sierra, is Fry's offering the NF4 mobos (most if not all from all makes)? Where do you shop mostly for your computer needs? Fry's? Here in the Twin Cities, I have no place but MicroCenter since tis the only big computer shop around. The one thing they don't seem to have are good OCing memory, like OCZ, G.Skill, Kingston, Samsung, Geil and etc... They only carry Simple Tech, Corsair, and a bunch of no-names, which performs really poor. I really wish I live in CA so I can go and get those special combo deals from Fry's, especially their A64+ deals.

Sory to hear this Sierra...Mine isnt going so well either.

I pulled this 2x512 pair of PDP with XBL {TCCD} that were doing 275 cas2.5-3-3-7-1t out of the NEO2, and I cant get the darn SLI-DR to go even 240 with these sticks ???

The UT250 GB was a super board, but I'm starting have concerns about this one.

Hey, Blue. Yeah I've tried just about everything. Just won't post. I may drop by Fry's tomorrow to see if I can get another board, maybe the Ultra-D, and then RMA the SLI-DR. I'm just thankful the CPU is alright. FX-55's are actually a lot harder to find than the DFI boards. Also, It's always a bad sign when two of the DFI moderators have dead boards. LOL.

It's a similar trend to the Asus. People complain about Asus' SLI a lot and I think Asus' bad, but now that DFI is having the same issue, I think it's the whole Nforce4 thing. I hope nVidia can come up with a newer step chipset to send to mobo makers to start good batch of mobos later on that everybody can exchange theirs with. Mobo have to make exceptions to exchange them as it's the chipset maker's fault and not the customers. What do you think of this?

All I know is that DFI made a lot of last-minute hardware changes. But I wonder if they bothered to test the boards afterwards. If I could just get a post, I could flash immediately to the latest beta BIOS. But no go.

Not good to hear... well, good luck on the RMA and in finding a workable new mobo. Hope the manufacturing didn't create a lemon .

*Fingers crossed for your success!*

I kinda think I should have waited for the second batch of boards, like I did with the UT 250 GB

I can not at any voltage or any timings get memtest to pass @255 with my PDP's in the SLI-DR

These sticks have passed all night sessions of mem test in the NEO2 @275
And 280 in the UT 250 GB

I'll move to my Hynix sticks that can run 300htt at 3-4-3-8, and see if they do any better.

Blue078 - are you using the new (just released) chipset drivers? Definately check the link posted by ImJacksAmygdala, and make sure you've updated from the shipping bios.
