| Interesting.... Interesting------and I thought DFI was basically through with my old but faithful Ultra D....... Lotta fixes----may give it a go----especially with all the DRAM code updating. But then again-----am getting a rock solid everyday overclock on a 4800+ ------a shade over 2.8 using multi 11----both cores entirely stable with nice temps.... The dual core just flies----a great everyday machine-----better than ANY Intel I'd ever owned. Maybe I should just stick with the old addadge "if it ain't broke----don't fix it!" Quote:

| Guys, question for yas. Can someone tell me why this Expert will not boot with UCCC anymore? The RAM is fine, it booted 1st try on Ultra and I primed all nite with it. I have to clear cmos to get into BIOS but as soon as I save any setting it wont post. I also tried reseting cmos and booting straight to windows but it locks on boot and then wont post. Works fine with redline and mush L2. Spent 2 days tryingto figure this out. =/

My everyday machine has been running faithfully for two years now...nothing I need to do to it so I guess I'll leave it alone!

| Yep got here fine. I get 2 LED of death. I think I know what he problem may be, here is my theory let me know if it makes sense. GPU is 90% dead since last week. Cant come close to doing anything even close to 3d, I can only use firefox and stuff like that. The UCCC still boots with Ultra but not with Expert. However Expert boots with higher voltage RAM like BH-5 or CH. Is it possible that the GPU is not being detected at all (I think thats what 2 LED means??) unless you run more voltage through mem? I know that is a little strange but it's the only thing I can come up with so far. :o

| Memmory Suggestions I am getting ready to purchase this DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert, AMD Opteron 165 Denmark and GeForce 7900 GT EXTREME to add to the other items i have owned for some time in my signature.. I have never owned an DFI board and pretty excited to since i its the only one i havent used yet.One main issue i am reading everywhere is memory issues.I was hoping that i could get some help on 2 gigs of ram that is overclockable and capitible for around $300.If you see anything in my sig that may not be worth hanging onto for this current set up feel free to give out some advice..I would rather by new now than have a computer down for some time.

That 7900 GT Extreme must be some kinda card! Are ya planning to use SLI? If so you'll want a beefier PSU, best off with one certified for SLI. That's about all I can say atm but I'm sure you'll get more replies soon

| Thank you tarrcm for replying..i would be willing to spend a lil more if it looked like it was worth it.After doing some research the only DDR tracers kits i could find were for only 512 (1GB kit (512MBx2) DDR PC4000 ) .What i was wondering if you purchased a kit of 2 gb.In regards to the power supply, no i wasnt planning on going with SLI for the mean time.I was wondering if this old power supply was even worth using on this new set up.. seen a number of a cold boot issues with other supply's that was making it intersting to choose from.

| Hi LuG! Some of the best 2 gig kits are UCCC, it's cheap and OCs well. For a start on all of your timings, see this thread. I am Mushkin beta tester so I can help you out with support for most Mushkin mem. You cant find the 2gig Ballistix or Tracers because its no longer sold. There were problems with -5B D chips not lasting more than a few months. Does your PSU have a 24 pin connector?

| Yeah you can still use a 20 pin but it is not really recommended. From DFI: Quote:
Just found out that Fry's has the mem @ $150 after rebate, that is super cheap for UCCC. Link
