| Re: AVG Free 8 - Install failed I haven't tried 8 again on any of my XP boxes, still running 7.5; however I tried 8 on a Vista 32 Ultimate box and the install worked fine.  The v8 build on the site is still the same one I tried when I started this thread. They haven't updated it yet.

| Re: AVG Free 8 - Runs fine Installed AVG Free v.8 a couple of weeks ago on ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe/XP Pro SP2. Never had any problems with v. 8.0. Today I installed XP SP3 (network version). Before installing SP3, I disabled AVG. Rebooted after installing SP3. No problems whatsoever with both XP SP3 AND AVG v. 8.0. |

| Re: AVG Free 8 - Install failed Update: I had to find a way to upgrade to v8 b/c v7 is no longer supported. I uninstalled v7 in safe mode, restarted and then installed v8. Works fine now.

| Re: AVG Free 8 - Install failed I installed AVG 8.0 just today, letting it upgrade from 7.5, no problem at all. My mobo is P4C800. If you have problem, just uninstall the old version, and install the new version freshly. I had to do that few times in the past. HTMH.
