| Does McAfee AntiVirus Slow Up Computer As a result of an earlier thread I posted, I learned that my Norton's AntiVirus was slowing down my computer & switched to Nod32 which I've been very happy with. Other members of my family currently have McAfee AntiVirus on their computers. Does that also significantly slow computers down as I don't want to advise them to switch unless it noticeably does? Thanks for your help |

| Depends on which responsibilities McAfee is currently serving. McAfee VirusShield is their virus scanner, and it has realtime scanning for email, web, etc. There's also a firewall, ad and malware scanners, etc. and all these modules can be set up for realtime defense as well. I'd say, with the full McAfee suite, running all it's modules, it could slow down a PC as much as Norton would. |
