| Microsoft Windows Defender (beta2) replaces Antispyware (beta1) Microsoft just released "Microsoft Windows Defender beta 2" replacing "Antispyware beta1": http://www.microsoft.com/athome/secu...e/default.mspx If you encounter an "error 1609" during installation (specifically those who have an NON-ENGLISH XP version), implement following instructions: 1.- Go to: Start---->>Control Panel---->>Account Users---->>New Account)) 2.- Click on Create Account. 3.- Create an account called Users (Set as Limited Account User. Don't set any password) 4.- Run the installation program of Windows Defender |

| What I like about this release is the ability to control what loads at startup even easier than going through msconfig and services. |

| It is very hard to divine that Defender replaces AntiSpyware on the MS site. However it does say that current users will be notified to upgrade. Should I wait?

| I have used winantispyware & found it was porous upgraded to beta2 - run for 2 weeks and removed - too slow and still porous talked w/ms support/completed 3 surveys/after adjusts, still slow I use xp os pro native english - w/ or w/o optional language packs, beta2 still slow (on otherwise fast workstation) - removed |
