| Re: virus help Yep there's some really nasty stuff out there - The myDoom3 worm piggybacks onto legitimate windows processes, svhost.exe- and is a B#%ch to find and get rid of. |

| Re: virus help i've gotten something really bad. it makes it so my internet explorer pops up with random websites and ads. worst part is i uninstalled IE and it still pops up. I normally close it out in task manger under image name INTERNET EXPLORER, yeah just like that all caps. I have turn off system restore and scan with McAffe virus scanner. I've even formatted my PC 3 times in a row then scan with that program that I've seen on this site, AVG. nothing still. Next I'm planning on doing a wipe maybe several times too. I have no idea what it is that i got but it sucks. Please help!... anybody |

| Re: virus help Doing a wipe several times wont help anything but your nostalgia... I usually just do a wipe everytime I get a severe virus that Mcafee dosent help with.

| Re: virus help Sorry to hear of your troubles. I got a nasty infection a couple weekends ago that wasn't even detectable by the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, AVG Free 7.5, Spybot - Search & Destroy or several other malware specific removal tools. I only ended up having it detected and removed after using a program I found called Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Just thought I'd recommend it. BJB Quote:

| Re: virus help Another free antimalware program is Spybot Search and Destroy. You can also download the free Autoruns from Sysinternal (now Microsoft) and run it (autoruns.exe). You will see lots of entries; exclude those from microsoft (it's an option, but you'll have to restart the program to have it work), and look at the entries without publisher. Give us a summary of those. |
