428.) If you have a graphical sig, you only need to post it once in a thread. Especially if your sig is large.

We seem to have a lot of new members here lately so I thought I would bump this up.

Im new around this camp and I like to read all the rules and such beforehand.

One thing I noticed that was missing from this list was..

If you fix your problem yourself, post it so everyone can learn.

Anyways, I've enjoyed reading so far...

All.....please pay attention to rule/suggestion #1 again.

I've seen a LOT of posts lately with really generic post titles. It will surely take longer to get good answers as the people who may be "knowledgeable" on your topic won't know to go in and read your post if you don't mention in the title.

for example...if you are having a networking problem, make sure to have "networking" somewhere in the title of the post and not something like "Need Help".

It truly would help a lot of questions have more likelihood of being replied to.

FYI, If you have posted a thread with a non-specific title, and want it changed, just contact any of the mods, or better yet "report" any post in the thread with a note that you would like the thread title changed (please include the new title you want) and one of the mods will take care of it for you. You can do the same thing if you want the thread moved to a different forum. It will be faster to use the "report" function, because then all mods will receive your request.

I would add that if your problem is fixed by yourself or by anyone's suggestion then post what the solution was. This is the only way folks will know a solution and other members can read your solution when they encounter the same problem.

Too true as there are still a few posts that are too generic.

I would only add that the post should be in the correct forum to begin with or at least a best attempt to put it in the correct forum.

VERY good point KT!...while a scream of frustration is understandable under "computer-related stress syndrome", using the scream as a thread header or title will not ensure a quick or appropriate forum response!

If you're re-producing a lot of commands or text output, use the code & /code in brackets to save scrolling, or add an attachment. Otherwise you end up scrolling through a page or two of text.
