Most new members come here with technical questions regarding their systems. We have many, many threads with a lot of great technical information for setting up, optimizing, protecting and keeping your system in top working shape. And, the Search button at the top of each page will help you find more detailed information for many of your other questions. There is also an Advanced Search which adds filtering and additional search capabilities which you can reach by clicking on the down arrow next to the regular Search button.

To get you started here, here is a select reading list for you with some of the "best of the best" technical threads essential for getting the most out of your system.

What a very considerate thing to do! Thanks for the list of articles. I do search's on this site all the time (found this site through the tweakhound site) and it works well, but there is nothing like someone who has been around awhile to post links to the best informative articles out there.

Thanks! Rob

Two more threads to add to the list:

An additional security tool called Process Guard, that protects against threats that firewalls, AV and anti-spyware software do not. Link:

Ever accidently delete a file you needed? Had auto-save in a program corrupt or cause you to lose a critical file? Or, needed to protect versions of files before they are overwritten, or used a program that deleted files bypassing the Recycle Bin completely? Here's the answer to that problem, Undelete by Executive Software. Link:

Mini-Review: Executive Software - Undelete

Yes, it is just like being a teacher. The more students you have, the more often the same question is asked. It's nice to be able to give them an occasional personal answer. Especially when the answer can be buried deep within a number of various threads and you can remember what thread and post you saw it in. Some of those threads go way back and only the people who participated in them might remember.

I think you have to be here for 90 days first. This is to prevent spammers from posting their links.

I think it's tied to a certain number of posts rather than duration of membership.
