Important Tech Threads for New Members ... Most new members come here with technical questions regarding their systems. We have many, many threads with a lot of great technical information for setting up, optimizing, protecting and keeping your system in top working shape. And, the Search button at the top of each page will help you find more detailed information for many of your other questions. There is also an Advanced Search which adds filtering and additional search capabilities which you can reach by clicking on the down arrow next to the regular Search button. To get you started here, here is a select reading list for you with some of the "best of the best" technical threads essential for getting the most out of your system. For installing your Operating System: for Windows Operating System / Software Installation Guide (Note that while the title refers to Intel based systems, it applies equally well to AMD based systems, just substitute the correct drivers for those included in the article.) and for Linux http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86800 For links to drivers and important utilities: http://www.abxzone.com/modules.php?s...dex&name=Links and Software Utilities Listing For our software store where quality software can be purchased by members at a discount: http://www.abxzone.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=97and http://www.abxzone.com/modules.php?n...category&cid=2At the top of each Forum here at ABX, there are "stickies" covering some of the most important information - threads that many members have found very helpful with general problems. I am sure that other members will add additional links for you to look at as well. Last edited by PCBruiser : 02-09-2005 at 03:32 PM.

What a very considerate thing to do! Thanks for the list of articles. I do search's on this site all the time (found this site through the tweakhound site) and it works well, but there is nothing like someone who has been around awhile to post links to the best informative articles out there. Thanks! Rob

Two more threads to add to the list: An additional security tool called Process Guard, that protects against threats that firewalls, AV and anti-spyware software do not. Link: http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89811 Ever accidently delete a file you needed? Had auto-save in a program corrupt or cause you to lose a critical file? Or, needed to protect versions of files before they are overwritten, or used a program that deleted files bypassing the Recycle Bin completely? Here's the answer to that problem, Undelete by Executive Software. Link: Mini-Review: Executive Software - Undelete Last edited by PCBruiser : 03-04-2005 at 12:40 PM.

Yes, it is just like being a teacher. The more students you have, the more often the same question is asked. It's nice to be able to give them an occasional personal answer. Especially when the answer can be buried deep within a number of various threads and you can remember what thread and post you saw it in. Some of those threads go way back and only the people who participated in them might remember.
