| Re: Note to spammers Another one I've seen used is to moderate the first few posts. Usually that is enough to stop them from hitting the forums at all.

| I was trying to think of a way to make it as big of a PITA as possible to the spammer while still being a legit filter mechanism, and requiring the least moderator work. I think making somebody write at least 100 words on the topic of why they want to join will keep the average spammer from bothering to post. I doubt they have the IQ to type 100 words without them containing nokia or ipod. I would like to join ABXZone so I can make duplicate posts advertizing cell phones and ipods. When the sucker, OOPS, I meant customer responds, I can rack up a big bill with the credit card number they gave me. Honestly, where are the MORONS that give these people business??? Who in their right mind responds to forum spam to buy consumer electronics??? Obviously somebody does, or they wouldn't do this! Well while those people are giving $$$ away, I'll take some! ![]() |

| I've got another idea to stop these spamming POLESMOKERS! MAKE THEM fill in the profile info. It seems most of them leave the profile info BLANK. Other forums I've joined MAKE you fill in the profile or it rejects you. I notice most of these BUTTMUNCHERS have blank profiles to go with the BLANK between their ears!!! I'd say that would be a good extra annoyance. At least make them fill in info about their own computer. In the mean time, all you spam bots can fill up this bunghole's spambox!!! ismmobiles@hotmail.com ismmobiles@hotmail.com ismmobiles@hotmail.com awomobilesss1@hotmail.com awomobilesss1@hotmail.com awomobilesss1@hotmail.com spamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspamspam spamspamspamspam!!!!!!!!! ![]() |

| Re: Note to spammers It would be gratifying if occasionally we could get one of these people banned while they are still in the act of creating one of their multiple posts. I have the feeling that some of them are spammers who have been here before, and are coming back under different screen-names. So prompt banning (that they would see while still here) might discourage that. That almost happened in this case, but unfortunately the guy posted just a few minutes after kONGO was last here. Regards, -- Al
