| Auzentech Prelude X-Fi Recently I bought an Auzentech Prelude X-Fi - mainly because Creative drivers are questionable and because Creative thought it was funny to disable Dolby Digital Live and DTS Connect in all X-Fi's except for the top of the range But anyway, onto the problem: I cannot use the Audio-related Multimedia buttons on my keyboard in games. They were working with the Onboard SoundMax Sound Chip. When I installed the drivers from the CD: Only Mute works. Volume dial doesn't. When I installed the latest Auzen drivers: Now both Mute and Volume dont work. Anyone else have the same problem? Perhaps with the X-Plosion or Mystique? Its gotta be a Driver or Settings problem, surely.

| Re: Auzentech Prelude X-Fi Did you disable the on-board audio in the BIOS prior to installing the Auzentech? Also, it's my understanding that the Auzentech Prelude drivers are essentially identical to the Creative drivers.

| Re: Auzentech Prelude X-Fi Yes I did uninstall and disable the onboard SoundMax in Windows and the BIOS. The driver package is a bit different to Creatives, but there are some similarities such as the X-Fi Control Panel. Note that the X-Fi Control Panel doesnt exist in the original Auzen driver that came on the CD, so perhaps the Creative part of it made it worse? Do Creative X-Fi owners have the same issue with the multimedia keyboard buttons/dials?

| Re: Auzentech Prelude X-Fi I think that's a function of the keyboard driver. Sometimes I load the drivers that come with my keyboard and sometimes I don't. ![]() |

| Re: Auzentech Prelude X-Fi Ive never loaded the logitech keyboard drivers, and Mute/Vol has always worked in games with my previous cards. I am using Dolby Digital Live to encode all audio to my 5.1 Decoder (DTT2500) so I think that may be bypassing the multimedia commands

| Re: Auzentech Prelude X-Fi Problem Solved! http://www.auzentech.com/site/suppor...p#troubleshoot Q : After installing the sound card and connecting it to my surround sound system using S/PDIF output, keyboard and Control Panel adjustments to Volume and Balance either do not work or have minimal affect. Is that normal? A : With Digital Audio output, output levels are controlled by the wave volume settings. Multimedia keyboards and remote controls only adjust the master volume. The third-party application "Volume Tracker" corrects the situation by linking wave volume and master volume. Volume Tracker is compatible with Windows 2000, XP and Windows Media Center. » Download Volume Tracker
