| Hi I am thinking about upgrading my Audigy MP3+ to a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer. I am wondering if this is a good idea? Specs: ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe and Windows XP SP2 Thanks NBK |

| You may want to head over to the Creative Labs forums and read about the card. The card does have issues with some motherboards. |

| I am running the card in a few systems and have sold a few of them. I have only had 1 person ever have a issue with the card. The only reason I pointed you to those forums is to make sure your motherboard was not one of the ones on there that was having issues. |

| Get the XFi, all problems i saw with that sound card was when you run it on a Nforce 4 based motherboard.

I might get an X-FI, if i cannot find an Audigy 4 anywhere. My local Best Buy had some the last time i was there. I will probably stick the X-FI in my ASUS P4B533-E based system. Thanks NBK | |

| The problem is not just limited to the Nforce 4 chipset. There are other boards that have issues with the card. EDIT: 200th post! |

| It works great for me, using a Nforce680i SLI board, I have a friend with a nforce590 board, and another one with a intel 975 board works fine for them too so go ahead. ![]()

| Did they ever get the drivers Vista compatible? Last I heard, Alchemy was the name of the drivers for the card under Vista, and Creative was going to sell them to people who already bought the sound card! |
