Did my LCD monitor just break?

My Samsung 21" LCD monitor just started showing a red perfectly straight line vertically from the top of the screen to the bottom of the screen. The line is about 2 inches in from the right edge of the screen. Looks like someone "drew" the line with a ruler. Sometimes this line will change color with a different background color. It'll turn dark blue on a windows blue background for example.

What happened? Is this fixable? What should I have done to prevent this from happening? This is my first LCD monitor.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

Can you hook up the monitor to another machine and then reset the monitor to the factory setting? Could be the video card instead of the monitor. Essentially, I would check video card and monitor cable before determining it being the monitor.

Thanks for the info PR.

I have one computer plugged into the digital input (ATI card) and another computer plugged into the analog input (Voodoo3 card). The line appears the same way, no change, when I switch between the analog and digital inputs.

What's this about factory resets? That would help?
