* Harmony 915..... *

Just got a new Logitech 915 universal remote and its great! I put 4 of my remotes to bed this this guy. It has a touch screen, and for us tweakers. It has all kinds of tweaks. Now if I can only OC it, I'll be in remote heaven.... The price is a killer...Here's a link to what it looks like...

Grats, Skully! I have the Harmony One as well coming from an older Harmony 680 remote. Love the new one so far.

I highly recommend downloading the custom icons from Squareeyes. The guy offers them for free to use as your channel favorites.

I also recommend this info from the AVS forum to deal with some of the slow device response issues:

Quote:
Since this question gets posted a lot, here are two easy fixes to get the Harmony remote to respond more quickly.

Click on the Device's "More Options"
- Select "Adjust the delays (speed settings)"
Inter-key Delay: 300ms
Inter-Device Delay: 300ms

Start by adjusting the Inter-key and Inter-Device delays to 300ms or less. Then test the remote. If it works at 300ms, keep lowering the speed in 100ms increments and see if the device still responds. If it doesn't, increase it back up 100ms. In my experience, I've found that most devices will respond to 100ms and devices like Tivos will take an Inter-key of 0ms.

Click on the Device's "Troubleshoot"
- Select "Show me more problems"
- Select "Device doesn't appear to receive every command correctly."
- Select "The device responds too much to some commands (for example, volume up increases the volume too quickly)."

The default number of repeats is 3. Lower the repeat speed and see if the remote still responds. If it doesn't, increase the number of repeats until the device still responds. In my experience, most devices will respond with 2 or more repeats and devices like Tivos will respond with 1 repeat.

We know who you are. You have a half-dozen remotes on the coffee table. And you’re the only one in the family who knows how to use them.
How do they know that about me and my family?!?!

LOL

ouch! on the price.
Enjoy, does look like a great remote.

Re: * Harmony 915..... *

I want to buy a new remote, but my next one must be able to control my PS3. AFAIK, there are not universal remotes out there with bluetooth yet.

Hey Bampson, thanks for the heads-up.... Yeah I really like the 915, and yes I wish it did bluetooth also.

Not to worry. This adapter is supposed to solve that problem nicely (albeit a little pricey).

Re: * Harmony 915..... *

I have the Harmony ONE also and it is the best remote I have ever owned. It does everything just about flawlessly. Best $200 I've spent.

I bought the Blu-Wave remote and USB dongle for the PS3 from NYKO and it works pretty good. The Harmony already has the codes for it.

I don't think the IR2BT module requires a USB port if batteries are used, thereby making it stand-alone.
