Installing Audio Drivers on ASUS Terminator 2 Barebones based system

Hi All, It's been a while!

I'm trying to set up a new system based on the ASUS Terminator 2 barebones and I'm having a problem with installing the audio drivers. I obtained the barebones second hand and I do not have the original drivers disc. I have downloaded the drivers from the ASUS website. The 'chipset' and video drivers installed no problem. However, it appears that the audio drivers come in 2 parts. When I down load and unzip I have a couple *.rar extension files that are not 'recognized' as drivers and there's no install wizard or instructions with the download. Can anyone offer any assistance? Thanks.

DK

If you know the brand of the audio controller you can go right to there site and download them. I always had bad luck downloading U.S.A drivers from asus site.

Unfortunately the SoundMax website refers me back to the m/b manufacturer (ASUS).

Extract the files contained in the RAR and see what you get.

Thanks trav! Turned out to be a 'two-stage' process. I unzipped the original download, but was simply left with an unzipped rar extension file. I had to find and install additional software to 'extract' from the rar file, but once I did that with the correct software the setup exe file was there. Thanks for your assistance!
