When I try to install the drivers for my SB Live value the installation gets about half way through then the computer locks up. If I reboot the computer starts up ok but in device manager it says that windows stopped responding when attempting to start this device. I have tried the card in slots 1, 3, 5 & 6. With and without the bios thinking the operating system is Plug and Pray, with the slot having an IRQ reserved, with IRQ 5 reserved for a legacy device and all the above in various combinations. I have tried them all with a clean install of windows 98SE each time. I had an Adaptec 2940U2W scsi card in slot 2 and tried the onboard video output and also a Matrox Millenium 2 PCI card. I installed the 815 inf files after every windows istallation before the SB istallation Has anyone got anymore suggestions please

Welcome!

are you using Live!ware 2.0 or 3.0, and for which operating system?
several have had problems with the Live! Value;
I did too, here's what i did:
1) Install OS
2) Install Main Board drivers: Intel inf, ultraATA100, and security drivers.
3) shut down
4) insert SB Live! Value and install Live!ware 3.0 along w/ the updated drivers found at http://www.soundblaster.com
5) install any other devices you may have.
}}no problems any more, whether it was under Windows 98 SE or Windows 2000 Professional SP-1 {{

Hope this helps.
