| Anyone using their sound card in slot 1? For some strange reason I stuck my Diamond MX300 snd card in slot 1 and it's not recognized at all. I have my fastrak100 controller in slot 5 & it's shared with slot1 but it's seen. Haven't changed slots yet (to lazy and kinda ill) but trying to deduce this logically - hopeing it's not a bad slot. I expect it's because the snd card takes 2 IRQ's? does that sound logical? Soon as i feel up to it i will first pull the fast track for the hell of it just 2 see if the snd card is recognized but i will end up with it in slot 3 or 4. I hope it's not the mobo cause it's full now - i'd hate 2 send it back 4 a new one. this mobo kicks serious butt where as I had problems with my BX6-2 system when i put 512 megs ram this CUSL2 system has no problems at all. The more I play with it the more I appreciate it. Now i have one system for programming & such and another for messing around & playing serious games. thanks for everyone's help

| I know the Promise ATA66 cards required an unshared IRQ. Maybe your fastrack is hogging the shared IRQ and the Diamond sound card can't get one. |

| Haha Not plugged in Looked at my sound card it was not plugged in. although i tightened up the bracket screw the card was not in the slot. i guess thats what bad eyes & getting old does to you. I moved the snd card anyway to slot 3 to be next to my wintv card. But after installing the drivers i get a message saying "your vortex adapter is not plugged into the primary PCI bus.... the joystick modem & snd blaster emulation may not work on 2ndary PCI bus. please consult your manual." I have no idea what they are talking about, i'm sure i will find the answer sooner or later the snd card is working but without the joystick port. This only happens in win98SE not in win2k - i'm dual booting.. thats deep about your promise66 card my promise fastrak100 & promise ultra 100 cards both share the bus with just about anything. I love this mobo it's great!
