Here's a tool to see if your protected from the 2 bugs, comes from Steve Gibson...I ran it and I'm safe from meltdown but not from Spectre.

Well I'm getting the turbo 3.0 pop up again with the new install on the Optane, i used the same method to disable it on start up as before but it doesn't stop it now....in the command prompt it says...

I installed the Samsung nvme driver on my 950 Pro and Skully did too....and we both have the latest Intel optane driver installed too. I asked Skully when I got my Optane and he said he installed...

I always just do a quick format and I never used a stop watch to time but it was done seconds on my 500 gig 950Pro.

Thats the manual I read a couple of months ago and led me to buying the Apex with the 7820X, knowing that I could use a optane and the 950 in the angle bird adapter....I just couldn't figure what...

Optane for OS (280 gig), 950 Pro for games folder (500 gig ), 840 Evo 500 gig for data and backup and a 1TB WD black for data and backup also! I have 2 x 1TB WD usb 3.0 portable drives for backup...

Right now all I have to put on the 900P is Office and a couple more benchmarks and I don't think I'll hit 70 gigs (right now 61 gigs)....I'm a happy camper! Great price on the 960 evo by the way!:yes:

I just found this review, I don't if this still applies or not...

"Intel's VROC technology will work out of the box with two Optane SSD 900P drives. Because the drives come from Intel, you don't...

I like the one with the solid front panel, love the tempered glass, don't have to worry about scratching the plastic window with that baby! The covered power supply is nice, lots of room to take care...

You got another Optane Skully? I knew you had a 280 first then I guess you got a 480....I guess you didn't exchange the 280 for the 480?

I wouldn't install any new bios update either has long has your rig is running good, no need to loose more performance! Sandog remember the gtx 970 4 gigs of ram deal....this is looking like the same...
