Why is news still in print?

I happened to see someone reading a printed newspaper in a cafe today and it struck me as very anachronistic looking. Its not yet too unusual, but its very much a part of my distant past now and...

I got the PS4 a while back and then a special controller (keypad and joystick) for that purpose. One...

Re: Disk Cloning errors?

Thanks Peter, I think it makes sense that it may have some difficulties if some critical SSD chipset drivers are missing.

Btw, be aware that TI 2018 currently wont automatically resize partitions...

Ran Magician, all ok. SMART was showing all ok and everything else there looked ok. Ran TRIM.

I then did a full byte by byte comparison to the old HDD of the user data and all is ok.

I also...

Re: Disk Cloning errors?

I think so, Windows is detecting the SSD, which is the first SSD the laptops ever had and doing something with drivers or disk management I guess, but it screws with the pci bus somehow.

Well I dtopped the SSD! It fell...

Re: Z370 compaired to X299 Builds!

I expect the price will come down quite a bit with all this fanfare around for the 8700K.

I think the heat issue with 8700K is also another serious consideration.
Obviously an OC 8700K will be...

Re: Z370 compaired to X299 Builds!

I think you can RAID 0 any brand SSD. (As a gamer I must admit I only ever think anout RAID 0, lol)
Where I see some use out of the riser is in providing additional M.2 connections direct to the...

Re: Z370 compaired to X299 Builds!

I was thinking that the new ASUS M.2 riser card allows you to run four NVMe SSD's on a x16 slot, providing that the CPU supports VMD. That would be the direct to the CPU lanes slot.
That would...

Re: New Kid On The Block, Intel Core i7-8700K

I dont agree with the comment that 7700K is better than 8700K when "taking into account heat”. So long as 8700K can run without throttling at stock I think it has better performance than 7700K.

Re: New Kid On The Block, Intel Core i7-8700K

I think the heat and lanes issues have taken a lot of the shine off the 8700K for me. Not feeling like rushing into this build. I miss the days when a new must have game would drive my system...

Some related benchmarks here (https://www.myce.com/review/native-z170-hyper-m-2-vs-pcie3-m-2-77791/)
I'd expect latency over DMI to be incredibly low, but I suppose theres no guarantees and it would...
