Re: Merry Christmas To All!!

Well said, John. This world has been going down the tubes for pretty much all of recorded history so we need to appreciate what is going well.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

Re: Court: Microsoft violated patent; can't sell Word

I am shocked I tell you--shocked--that Microsoft would infringe on another company's patent rights. :jawdrop:

Re: Spammer fined, banned

That is good news, although I don't fully agree with their logic for giving him a "discount" on his fine. :bunnycake:

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

The first time I was a male Breton Spellsword. It was a gratifying experience. The second time I was a female Redguard, but the class was custom.

In the first playthrough I took things as they...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

Let me add that there are only two RPGs I have played where using a different character truly changed the game:

Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

I agree that it works in theory but not necessarily in practice. My first and second characters were as different as I could make them and still like them. ;) Apparently, it didn't help as much as it...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

Thanks Traveler, I know all that but it would be a good reminder for the others. My point was that some of the quests seem like going through the motions after a while--especially the second time...

Re: BioShock 2

Wow--I couldn't get enough of it and was disappointed when it was over. :rain: Still, I tend to like RPGs more than FPS, so maybe that made a difference.

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

Yes--I think it is worth a go. I restarted Morrowind perhaps a year ago (after finishing Two Worlds) and really enjoyed it for perhaps 50 hours. Then I found myself in "grind mode" and I did not feel...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

It hasn't been a resource hog for a few years now. I would be surprised if any computer enthusiast couldn't run it at max settings. It still does not look that good though and I have always played it...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

As I recall (without running the game to see the playing time it recorded), it took me just under 200 hours to complete. Like Morrowind, the world map "fills in" as you explore. I would guess I...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

I did do a lot of the quests, but I am pretty sure I did not do them all. I did not use a walkthrough either, except for one quest where I could not determine what was expected of me. (As it turns...

Re: Anyone do MORROWIND ?

Morrowind was a great game. (Maybe I said that in this thread already. :D ) Anyway, anyone who hasn't played it should. It took me forever to play though--I recall over 200 hours. :p

Re: Windows 7 Is Quickly Displacing Vista -- But Not XP

My company just about skipped Vista. A few people opted for Vista and everyone else stuck with XP. I understand that now the choice is between XP and 7. I don't know what the stats are, though--too...

Re: Do you plan on shopping on Black Friday?

I did some shopping online as well (not much). Then I went to the gym, which was a whole lot more enjoyable. :rambo: (There weren't many people there either.)

Re: Be really careful going overseas

Well, I don't hang around bars and do not even know what a bar mat is. Still, I am guessing it is some sort of mat with advertising on it and worth two bucks. In such a case it seems that a more...

Re: 3D Realms Shut Down? No More Duke Nukem Forever?!

I agree with polymorphic to the extent that they should have been shut down some time ago for non-performance. Additionally, they did not develop Max Payne, I recall that Remedy developed the game....

Ah, Peter Jackson's King Kong. When it was new, I got it as a present. Played it about half way through and lost interest. Controlling your character is not bad, but controlling Kong (which you get...
