One thing about these displays right above the video card is they only way you can see them is if you buy and AIO cooler. A large HSF or a VGA waterblock with hoses coming out will block this thing. I am already planning on running tubes/hoses around it.

I should be able to see it with the setup I have now, I can see the republic of gamers red led just below the cpu socket now, if I had the 140mm cooler it would be a no go!

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

Yeah, I see that after I posted that it and the video card slot are moved down some. Do you have a pick of yours?

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

Maybe we'll have a surprise tomorrow when the NDA is over on the the 8700k and the 370 motherboards.

Won't be available until November. I want to see the memory QVL and see if the Kingston HyperX is on the list. I will probably buy it again if it is.

The Code is a nice board it has all the good stuff the Formula has like integrated I/O panel, ESS Sabre DAC, and all the feature specs are identical. I don't think there is enough difference to put the Formula $100 more. I am anticipating the Formula being under $400.

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

Like I said in another thread the ASUS Formula will probably run the 8700K at very close to 5GHz with TPU enabled. I don't think it is necessary to OC this CPU but I will see what the temps look like.

If you have ever ran ASUS Dual Intelligent Processors 5 and let the auto-tuning feature run, you will see it reaches the peak OC based on CPU temperature. I plan on having a pretty stout custom WC loop.

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

If you water cool it from what I read (not a AIO), 5GHz should be easy!

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

I like using TPU settings in ASUS BIOS, they are fixed profiles like when you run EZ-BIOS you can select that meter than says, Efficient/Normal/Optimized. If you select Optimized that is TPU1. TPU1 knocks my current CPU up 18% to 3.9GHZ and TPU2 does 30% or 4.1GHz. Essentially TPU1 is a air-cooling profile and TPU2 is a water cooling profile.

Well I am committing fellas. I just ordered the XSPC radiator.

http://www.xs-pc.com/radiators-ax-se...radiator-white

I got it because stock was getting low. The reason I got white was not just because my case is white but because I wanted to see XSPC written on the side.
