Snow Leopard

I dont use Mac OS X but I'm impressed that Snow Leopard is going to have a smaller footprint... (7GB less). Usually a new OS version will be bigger than its predecessor due to additional features. Its really great that they can shrink the OS like this. Of course they dont support all the previous (mostly 32 bit) apps either, but I think thats a reasonable step to take.

Apparently this will also make it more responsive... I assume because its using a different compiler...

They've also got a feature where the system can offload work to the GPU which is a great use of resources... I hate the fact that my GPU does nothing most of the time in my PC given the power that it has.

I dont like the idea of being tied to a particular hardware platform so wont be shifting over to Mac's just yet, but I cannot help but be impressed by the approach.
