Raid 0 build-fresh new install

I am planning on adding 2x1TB WD. BLACK Ed. Hd's in Raid 0 array when Windows 7 is released in Oct. My question is......... Should I use a hardware controlled raid array or just use my mobo's software driven one? Also, plan on useing SATA cables..... should I have to worry about jumpers in the drives? If so, where should I place them. What kind of perfomance gains will I see running them in Raid 0 array compared to my old WD. 750GB in my sig? Will my motherboard see the drives as 1? Will I have to turn on RAID in bios then reboot? How should I configure the jumpers if I have to or not?

Re: Raid 0 build-fresh new install

I may get flamed for this but software raid 0 is a joke and hardware raid 0 is not that great either though much better than software raid.

If it were me I'd go with a SSD for the OS and programs and a large HD for data as you would get much better performance.

Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment.
