Possible .dll issue?

Not sure if this is in the right section, but here goes...

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron laptop, and about a week ago I've started having issues. I'm using Windows Vista 64 bit.

Whenever I try to run certain programs, like Spybot or Skype an error comes up saying:

'Bad Image'

'C:\Windows\system 32\DUser.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support.'

When I try to save files from Office, nothing happens. When I try to use a site like imageshack, I click browse and nothing happens.

This problem is driving me mad. I've had to re-do a few documents because it's failed to save changes. I'm going off to Uni in a few days so I need to get this fixed asap.

Help please anyone?

Re: Possible .dll issue?

Thanks for the quick reply sir skully.

I've tried all 3 steps and still no luck. Windows updates didn't help, reinstalling the software such as Skype and video drivers doesn't stop the error, and restoring the system back to the 9th doesn't help either as the problem still existed then.

Whenever I try to save a word document the 'save as' box doesn't appear, and when I try to upload a file on a site such as image shack the 'browse' box doesn't come up either.

From the little I know about this problem, it would appear there is a problem with the system 32 DUser.dll file. If I were to delete it and reinstall it would this fix the problem? I just don't want ot make things worse.

Re: Possible .dll issue?

I'm sorry, but all that I know about your problem is in that link I posted.
I think if it was me, I'd save my important stuff/backup. Then reformat the drive and reinstall windows.....
