Programs have disapeared

Hello again all!

When I click Start>Programs, all the programs are gone. It just says Empty.

I have an HP Presario\Vista Home Pro running. I did everything I could, no dice.
Can anyone here help me out with a solution?

Thanks,

Thee

They're in the same place as your missing socks.

Re: Programs have disapeared

As far as socks go, I'm sure there is a wandering worm hole that targets them.... There's probably some quantum law that covers sock shaped objects
I wonder how Three went with this problem?

Re: Programs have disapeared

Win 7 has the ability to select the no. of programs listed in the Start/Programs menu. Your setting if there is one might be zero.

Lightbulb Re: Programs have disapeared

ThreeOX,

Have you installed any drivers (old drivers in particular) just before the problem showed up (especially if the drivers are for an old LOGITECH webcam)?

Some bad driver packaging, in my case from the aforementioned manufacturer (experienced that some yers ago), can change permissions for the SYSTEM user ID in several registry keys and make the system become nearly (or completely) unusable.
