Re: "Windows Server 8" Sneak Preview

I'm totally confused as to why MS is releasing Win8 so soon. Windows7 is already shaping up the be the new WindowsXP - then again, they may not want to have the problems that that are having with getting rid of XP.

Re: "Windows Server 8" Sneak Preview

Well we really should be at Windows-11, but Vista took three times longer to develope than they thought. Their goal is to have a new operating system every two years. Remember they are in the buisness to sell software $$$.

Re: "Windows Server 8" Sneak Preview

Too funny.. An article named "the last days of windows 7"
Could someone tell me how the policy of current companies "let's make a product today and then another new one the day after so the first becomes obsolete and people should buy anew" fits in with the economical situation of today?

True, but Win8 had better be something pretty special to get users to move to it (of course, when it comes out, it will the the OEM OS of choice for consumer products).

MS isn't Apple, a two year (or less) strategy won't have as much appeal to the large installed base of PC users.

Remember the biggest obstacle for Vista was it required so much Ram to run at all let alone the amount to run well. Now that most PC's have already got the minumum amount for 7/8/9 Windows. It will not be so hard to upgrade to 8/9/10....

Seven has been refered to as Vista secound addition, or what Vista should have been. It was built upon Vista.
