Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
While "market gurus" and financial pen pushers tend to dwell on Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) recent misses, they tend to miss that in the operating systems business, the company is relishing the greatest sales success in its history. Selling faster than any other version of Windows -- or any other operating system in the history of the world, for that matter -- Windows 7 soared to a 40.21 percent (appr.) installation rate in under 2 years, bumping the much beloved Windows XP to second place (38.64 percent). http://www.dailytech.com/Windows+7+P...ticle23016.htm

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
Win7 has been great for me. I tend to do a lot of retro gaming and have had very few issues getting older games running (of course DosBox helps!!). The only issue I've had is 16-bit installers for older Windows based games but I was able to get a virtual Win98 running for those programs.
This OS has run stable since I installed it several years ago when it first came out. Zero "Blue Screens" and driver support has been surprisingly good. Overall I think Microsoft delivered a winner!!

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
Just as XP passed the previous "much beloved" MS OS, Win 98.

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
Same here. Windows XP looks archaic. The hardware support with 7 is very good and the OS appears very stable and MS always keeps security updated. I like all the system apps that let you know hardware and system info. (you can view logs).

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
I agree, Win7 has been the best OS yet, lots of support right out of the box.

I have had no problem with Win7 since my installation. Loved XP but would not go back to it under any conditions.

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
Using the latest videocards is one reason also to go 7... they're over-equiped for XP

Re: Windows 7 Passes Windows XP To Become Top OS
Yup, I downloaded the pic and used the hacker program. I edited the name in the photo to show Sandog - PC.
I investigated this pretty well and I even made several icons of my hardware. 650d.jpg Dell 2408WFP.jpg HP Laser Gaming Mouse with VooDooDNA.jpg I tried making my own metadata files, naming folders with the proper GUID and archiving them to cabs, saving them in multiple locations in Windows 7, etc. but could not get the others to work so I gave up.
