Re: What was Abxzone old name?
Mine is just like that, but I'm pretty sure it says "AsusBoards".
BTW, I've been hanging out here since ~2000. 12 years. Holy Smokes! ![]()

Re: What was Abxzone old name?
Lots of us had issues. That was what drew me to the forum. When I did a google search for Cusl2, I was delighted to see a forum with the MB name in the title. If I remember right my issue was a cold boot problem. I never fixed it and ended up dumping it for a Cusl2-c when it came out. The fact that we were all bonded by a techincally bust MB made us a unique working group of folks brainstorming. I see this in working groups at work, the difference is we don't get the personal side going like we did here after forming, norming, and performing the technical issue at hand. Part of the reason I see the old heads tapering away is due to the quality product Asus puts out. Most builds are fire and forget. We don't have the technical problems that used to plague us. The computers perform so fast we don't have to push the hardware to the limits getting an OC. Without the technical problems, the need to come here for personal relationships gets lost some times in Real Life.

Re: What was Abxzone old name?
You've all got me remembering the reasons why I joined the site; I remember at that time I'd been running Abit boards and enjoying lots of over clocking fun with those. (Could really boost gaming fps with over clocking in this days.)
But I was getting annoyed with the frequent blue screens that went with that and Asus had a rep for "quality". So I started researching Asus and ended up here really enjoying the community spirit and tech discussions and have stuck ever since. Of course looking back now it was probably Win 98 causing all the blue screens...

Re: What was Abxzone old name?
Sadly I am forced to maintain three desktop computers at work that run windows xp. The Air Force has migrated to Windows 7, but there is a flight planning program we use called PFPS (pilot flight planning software) that will only run in XP natively. I tried installing it on a Vista and 7 machine using compatibility mode and it was a no go. My last unit I had a whole network of computers that had to run Windows 2000! The software needed was designed to run in Unix. It was developed in Desert Storm for building Air Tasking Orders. Never updated! Since there is no way to run Unix on computers we could maintain, they came up with a Unix emulator that would support it, but that had to be run on Windows 2000. So sad.

Re: What was Abxzone old name?
Yes you guys got it right. It was CusL2.com when it first started. It was a great place to find information and help.

Re: What was Abxzone old name?
I cannot remember exactly, but it was when the Cusl2 first came out. I had the same problem as the rest of you guys, the cold boot problem. I think it was 98 or 99. I went to the Cusl2C board also. After it went toABX I never joined until 2001.Been here ever since.

Yes it has had a few peaks and valleys but it has been enjoyable. I see we joined the same month and year.
