Have the problems with the 830s been resolved?

Re: 24 Hour Sale Samsung 830 120GB SSD
I have the Samsung 830 128 gig for a few months now without a problem and in fact I updated the firmware to the latest and my writes speeds have increased, no problems with mine or Jim's!

Re: 24 Hour Sale Samsung 830 120GB SSD
There were some problems with write speed dropping off dramatically. It was in a thread on XS.

Can't say I experienced that. I'll check into it. Thanks

Re: 24 Hour Sale Samsung 830 120GB SSD
Just read the thread at XS. I do see some user error there. I no longer go by what users on other forums say as there are too many variables. What is briefly touched is the issue with Magician and secure erases. Some machines will not display some of the screens correctly when booted from either a USB stick or CD/DVD. Easy workaround though - hit "y" a few times.
Samsung still recommends "Diskpart" to bring the drive back to factory specs. I spoke with them myself. They don't support it as it would be a "nightmare" for them as the clueless can really do damage!!! Nevertheless, here is my data (just updated), and I fail to see any degradation:

Re: 24 Hour Sale Samsung 830 120GB SSD
I don't have any SATA 3 ports on my X58, so I think I'll just wait for now till I upgrade my system (and I can't find any inexpensive PCIe SATA RAID controllers with good reviews).
