Re: Z77 Boards
Yeah, none of the board links work if you left click, but if you right click and select 'open in new tab', they work fine. For example:
ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 If I build a Z77 rig, it will most likely be one of those 2 boards. I prefer the Sabertooth, I just wish they didn't put the fans on it.

I like the looks of the SABERTOOTH Z77 save for the fans...

Re: Z77 Boards
My sentiments exactly.
If I could run it w/o the fans, or turn the IO panel fan around so it exhausts, I may get that board. I don't like the idea of unfiltered air being blown into the board, or the added noise of those little (probably high RPM) fans.

Re: Z77 Boards
Same here. I don't mind the fans so much, except that fans that small can be noisy and prone too early failure.

Re: Z77 Boards
I'm not planning on water cooling.
I guess I'll wait and see what the talk is about the fans; whether or not they are optional, and/or if the rear one can be turned around so it exhausts. ![]()

Re: Z77 Boards
The Sabertooth has a five year warranty so I wouldn't worry about the fans. They are probably good ones. I haven't seen the board yet but when you cover it up like that it is probably a good idea to have some fans.

Re: Z77 Boards
I think one of the more interesting Z77 boards, is the new Fatal1ty Z77 Professional-M - mATX board.
It looks like it will make a screaming SFF computer. Maybe a nice small box that plugs into the Home Theater for some Battlefield 3 on the big screen!! |

Re: Z77 Boards
Yep, we hit the nail on the head with that one. The benchies were not taken with the new IB CPU, however I don't think it will make a big difference any way.
Guess we'll have to wait till Haswell to see any tangible performance gains!
