Are you using headphones? Which and where?

Wanted to ask the members here what kind of headphone they are using and where.

I recently bought a pair of Sennheiser headphones, good sound with rich bass, good earplugs, for when i'm listening to mp3s etc. on my way to or from work.
But soon i replaced them with Belkin, excellent and very small earplugs with a decent and rich sound and enough bass.
At home i use my AKG (good austrian company) for several years now with different soundcards over different receivers and i was and still am very pleased with them.

Greetings

Dru

Re: Are you using headphones? Which and where?

The Sennheiser are good earplugs, i can't find the ones i have on any website. Only once have they been mentioned in another forum, found and bought them at a local electronic-supermarket. They do have a good bass and great sound, but the Klipsch i use now are a tad bit smaller (comfortable) and have maybe even better sound.

The headphones for home are AKG K701, good looking imho and superb sound, on different receivers. I liked my Denon receiver, but this one is now kind of fix installed in my caravan so i am using the older TEAC.

Works great with Audiosurf and perhaps all other games.

Greetings

Dru

Re: Are you using headphones? Which and where?

I got Senn's but call me strange.. because honestly I don't like the fact I can't change the volume of the headset itself
Been looking at Fatal1ty's
And I hate plugs.. they never fit

Re: Are you using headphones? Which and where?

I have two sets I use all the time for videos and music.

Sony MDR-RF970RK 900 MHz wireless stereo headphones connected to home theater for TV and Movies. Good sound. Long battery life. No wireless connection problems.

Sennheiser RS120 926 MHz Wireless RF Headphones connected to multiple desktops and laptops with a-b switch. Better sound quality than the Sony but some noise issues with signal.

I have an asus Wireless Router (RT-N56U) about 16' from receivers for these.

For everyday use I would recommend the Sony set.

Hope that helps.

Re: Are you using headphones? Which and where?

I've purchased the Shure SE535 earphones and heard details in audio tracks I've never heard before, whether it is classical music, jazz, pop, live recorded concerts or whatever. The SE535 contains 3 drivers!

But this is just part of the story. I wanted bit-perfect rips. So I started purchasing the Plextor PX-L890UE drive (it has some flaws, however), and dBpoweramp CD Ripper (which is an audiophile CD-ripper). This combo enabled me to rip at 4x speed. And the rip results are fabulous.

Last but not least: JRiver Media Center. An audiophile frontend, replacing all other audio and video software, I was using in the past. I removed Quick Time, iTunes, VLC Media Player from my system, and I'm not any longer using Windows Media Player. It is possible to choose with JRiver Media Center from different audiophile drivers (such as WASABI). JRiver Media Player processes internally the music stream in 64 bit.
And this also makes a big audible difference!. It makes speed, punch and dynamics of the music clearly audible . It differentiates the bass drum from the bass guitar as well! Deep bass!

So, the combination of this all, makes that I'm enjoying my preferred music more than ever before!

I have the Beats headset for my phone and ipod, and I use the Fatal1ty headset for PC.

I like both, and Monster's warrantee service is the best!!

Um...I'm using the P311 for my phone actually. It's actually not bad to watch a movie on the way to work and home. Most importantly, it is cheap

Re: Are you using headphones? Which and where?

I use nothing but speakers at home. For traveling, have a pair of Sennheiser HD555.
