That's fine, and it means that lots of people won't buy it either...LOL..Just look at PC sells, there in the toilet, I know a lot of that is because of tablets and smart phones, but sells of W8 are terrible and are going to get worst.

Re: The Leader of Windows Exits Microsoft

The whole "Windows" paradigm is losing meaning. When Windows first came out one of the significant points of difference between it and others was the UI; with the apps presented as dockable, floating "window" like objects. All the OS's are similar looking on the tablet now.
I think that going after that market aggressively is a good move for MS (although late to the party) but not including the highly functional and evolved desktop UI that we all know so well after years of training is crazy, especially when so many are still using that platform.
What is their point of difference now in the market?

Yeah, but I've read reports of numerous customers walking into Best Buy for a new computer, getting confused trying to use W-8 and walking out without buying one.

Add to that the fact that MS worked with it's OEM partners on WindowsRT tablet designs, and then came out with their own, heavily promoted versions and their OEMs were peeved, to put it mildly. Too make things worse, Corporate IT adoption is very low (unlike consumers, they can just buy and use volume licenses for Win7). Lastly, the Win8 app store isn't exactly booming right now (though that could change):

The countdown to 100,000 Windows 8 apps falls short | TechRepublic

If MS users to just boot to a Win7 like Aero interface, the problem with end users, corporation (don't want to spend $$s on training) would go away and I'd become a Win8 convert, so long as all my apps worked fine.

Re: The Leader of Windows Exits Microsoft

Well here's another thing that isn't going to help, the price of a W8 upgrade just went from $39 to $199, that should increase sells....LOL....

LOL, I think the only reason Win8 sales were OK was because it was cheap as chips, so why not try it. Now that mentality will go out the window
