And how's it going? Out of the Vault yet?

I have yet to do the Expansion Pack content in my copy of FO3GOTY edition. But I've been thinking about it lately.

I will be getting back to FallOut 3. I still have all the game expansion packs to do.

I like FallOut 3. A very immersive game world.

Put the collectible bobble heads on the display rack. Weapons in the closet. And just dump the rest on the floor of your house.

... and sell the extra stuff.

Installed the FallOut 3 Expansion Content today!!! Finally!

Now I can do Anchorage, Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, and Spaceship Zeta.

All are PC-DVD installed and are independent of STEAM. Did STEAM do anything "extra" to their "buy from STEAM" version? Did anyonr buy FO3 from STEAM?

I just checked the thread--- it's been four years since you wrote about installing them....

God, I'm getting old.

Can't definitely answer you on the STEAM question, (as I bought the PC-DVD GOTY) but to my knowledge there is nothing "extra" in the Steam version of FO3.

Happy trails, Trav, happy trails.

Hmm, i want to do FO3 again. Have there been any patches to improve IQ that i dhould install? Does the extra content do anything in that regard?

Hey mcmd!

I was wondering if they had put in "achievements" or "badges" into the STEAM version.

There are things added when the Expansion Content is installed. Pitt raises the Level Cap from 20 to 30. So you can now get all those Perks you always wanted and increase your Skill levels and your Action Points. I'm looking forward to that! ... and a ton of other stuff I saw when I took a quick glance at the FallOut 3 wiki.

Hmmmmmm ... I just found my Official FallOut 3 Game of the Year Game Guide. New stuff!

Re: Fallout 3

I was just mucking around last night and installed the high definition pack from one of the download sites and it really makes a big difference to FO3! Looks totally awesome with some very nice detailed textures. I also set FOV to 95 in the ini and made some recommended changes to avoid CTD's. I'm running this on my 32" monitor at 1080p and its looking fantastic.

Does anyone know of any negative impacts on the game in using the pack?
BTW, is there any authoritative or official site for mods? I just downloaded this pack at random, but it looks awesome without changing the FO3 flavour.

I assume that the DLC's don't include improved textures themselves, so no official texture hi res pack, would someone confirm?

I feel like playing this game again, it looks and feels so good with this pack.
There is so much to do. I was reading some of the wiki and realised i havent scratched the surface of this game yet.

I recall that i didnt like the cartoonish graphics that much, but this pack really improves the look, and many of the side quests just seemed silly... Although they helped me to level up and learn about the world. The dialog trees seemed to be broken sometimes too with questions appearing about topics i hadn't heard of. The other problem was just keeping track of all the quest threads between gaming sessions. After a week or so away from the game it would be a challenge to recall what they were all about!
I think that FO3 is one of the better games in the series, with a great deal of complexity there.
