Metro: Last Light

I looked quite a bit to see if there was a thread on this game already. I figured there would be, and it's possible I missed it. If that is the case please merge appropriately.
I suppose I am a little biased going into this game to begin with since I loved the first one so much. Post apocalyptic stuff always turns me on. Plus I love the story line of this one. It actually has one! Which seems to be challenging for some titles. Maybe the fact that it was inspired by an actual novel helps. I have been meaning to read the book. Just never seem to get around to it. For those of you that played the first one, it is much like the original. Same corridor type, very linear (which I like) maps are a bit bigger in the outdoor scenes I think. A.I. has improved a bit. Lighting is nothing short of amazing! Character detail is beefed up a bit too. There are some new monsters. Weapons are about the same though there are more customization options. The world reacts to bullets better than it's predecessor. More glass breaks etc. Aside from the lighting it is a bit hard to describe just how good the graphics are with this title. I am thoroughly impressed. Of course it pulls a lot of resource. (finally something for my Vcards to do!!) but I can run it at max settings with no chop with the below specs. Metro has been my second favorite since HL2. Since the latter seems to be solely nostalgic anymore, I guess you could say it is my favorite. Obviously I highly recommend this title. Metro is on a short list of reasons I built this beast

Re: Metro: Last Light

I'll try it next. I've got about 150 hrs into Skyrim and I still have a bit more quests and exploring to do. Hope I live long enough for FO4.

Thanks for the mini review.

Anytime my friend . I guess I felt like prattling on about something. Oh one thing I should mention. It still has the watch but they replaced it with a digital readout. The watch still shows the real life time (in 24 hour format) but I liked the old analog one better. Small concession given the rest of the game.>

Re: Metro: Last Light

Still on a break from Skyrim. Finished Metro:LL. Great graphics, interesting story line, but way too linear for me. The whole gas mask thing is a farce.

Fired-up FO3: NV again. Think I'll stay with it for a while.

Re: Metro: Last Light

I've been considering FO3: NV for a while now. Steam and other sites will have great deals on it.

As for now I'm on: Rage and Deus Ex: Human Evolotion. I got both games for $16 and paid $3 the other day for 2 DLC packs for Dues Ex.

I'm still considering Battlefield 4 and Arma 2...

Re: Metro: Last Light

Rage is a waste. DE is good. For me the whole FO series is the best. Great prices, I would not hesitate.

Re: Metro: Last Light

Rage on insane mode was pretty damn good man.

I mean, fkn mind control darts, exploding w/EM pulse RC cars, mortar like shotgun shells, some tough car racing, and I have no complaints against the game for $7.00.

The DE gameplay thus far has been a bit different, but I'm progressing and doing more etcetera. It's getting better!
