Re: Valve Releases SteamVR Performance Test!

BTW, I was looking at the MATRIX video card today.

MATRIX-GTX980TI-P-6GD5-GAMING | Graphics Cards | ASUS USA

This is the card I like to put up against my STRIX. I think I tore it up a while back in the other thread. The STRIX looked better in most areas and was cheaper to boot. Here are some NE reviews and pricing.

ASUS GeForce GTX 980 Ti MATRIX-GTX980TI-P-6GD5-GAMING 6GB 384-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card - Newegg.com

One of the things I didn't mention comparing the STRIX to the MATRIX that I just found out was the MATRIX has a plastic fan shroud. The STRIX has aluminum. The clocks are the same on both cards. The one thing the MATRIX has is better support for LN2 as far as I can tell.

Here is a telling pick. Both PCB's look like twins. Both have 12+2 power phases (I outlined the chokes because they are bigger). The top is the STRIX.

The MATRIX has a heat sink on the 12 VR's but the STRIX has one built in to the HSF that lays across the VR's. That is a better solution tying it to the larger HSF.
