Question Msi gtx 1060

Hello everyone!

I am thinking about purchasing the MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB. This is the top of the price range I seek.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a different GPU in this price range that may be better?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Msi gtx 1060

I think this 1060 will be fine for what I do and combined with my 650ti as a physX card, I believe it will be more than enough for my aging system.

Thanks for the feedback FV!

Check Amazon or Newegg.

Re: Msi gtx 1060

You know I think it comes with a molex to 8 pin adapter in the box...that 8 pin adapter you can drop 2 pins...I think! I did a little checking from one of the reviews I read it needs a 8 pin connector and it doesn't have one in the box....Check out these at Amazon, there should be something here that will work!

Re: Msi gtx 1060

Nice Falkan, looks like you put together a very nice mid-high-end system. How do you like the graphics on the new NV 1000 series? Enjoy the card.

Re: Msi gtx 1060

The detail is quite good. Wildlands w/highest settings runs like butter and other game look fantastic.
I usually spend around $150 on a gpu so this one is much better than I'm accustomed to.
It came with Ghost Recon: Wildlands and Season Pass so I got quite a bit of DLC including in-game MSI and Nvidia t-shirts...

Good news. Ghost Recon just came out last month and is DX12. The 1060 is just below the 1070 and the 1070 is a beast. All three cards should have the same GPU features it is just the higher up cards can pass more bandwidth. If your running 1920 resolution the 1060 should be plenty powerful. You should see the same quality at a GTX 1080. I bet that new game does look nice. Enjoy!

Re: Msi gtx 1060

BTW, there is a fresh NVidia driver out today and the release notes said there are DX12 improvements. I would get this Falkan.
