What were you last SLI temps with the 980Ti's water cooled?

Re: Asus gtx 1080 strix

FVB I don't think the MnpcTech bracket will work with my card. My card slopes down to almost cover the whole 3rd pci slot. I believe the card needs to be mostly contained within the two pci slots all the way down. I tried to buy it.

It wouldn't droop with that support bracket, I don't think the bracket will bend, the video I linked to was using your card!

Re: Asus gtx 1080 strix

No that was not my card. I have the newer card with the Ti HSF. It is 1/2" thicker. Like I said, my card slopes down to cover the 3rd PCI slot. In other words it is 3 PCI slots thick at the power connector end and I only have the two screws available below it. I need to go to 3 screw below it but then I am on top of my Intel PCI SSD.

Here, this picture should do the talking.

There's slots for the 2 screws , I think you can drop down one slot and use the rubber bumper which is adjustable and it will work!

Re: Asus gtx 1080 strix

If you look at your picture with the red outlines the bracket is set at the lowest point and you can gain almost .5 inch upward!

Are you talking about the two bumper screws? The problem is the MNPC bracket itself is the same height as the PCI screws but my card is much higher.

Since the card is so high, the MNPC bracket really goes along about 3/4" below the top of the card so the MNPC bracket will hit the card. This is without even putting the bumper on yet. I know the bumper slides up and down. And BTW, look a the pic I made of my computer and the MNPC bracket on the right. You can see the MNPC bracket is slid down as far as it can go on the two screws.

Your confusing me, are you realizing my card is on the left in my picture?

Look at the bracket where it attaches to the case there are slots where you can go up and down with the bracket then tighten the screws, it you skip one of the removable back brackets (whatever there called) just below you card then move the bracket up it will work!

Yes, but are you not seeing the Intel SSD below my graphics card? I only have two PCI slots available under my graphics card for the MNPC bracket. If I put the bracket lower (even sliding it up) it needs to be 3 PCI slots below the video card.

I tried contacting MNPCtech to answer a question but they wanted all my PI.

Intel 750 is a half height card and would go right underneath the bracket and you would have to get a longer screw to go through both the 750 and support bracket? You might have to put a spacer (washer) under the top screw hole on the bracket so it will be even with the bottom screw!

Re: Asus gtx 1080 strix

Yeah you know what? I have to leave the case PCI slot brackets in there anyway so the MNPCtech bracket HAS to go on top of them. I would be just as good moving it down above the Intel SSD as long as I don't mind covering up the Intel SSD and I don't think I care. I might get this in a while.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

I really could have kept my old STRIX 980 Ti like FVB still has. That was probably the most Titan-esque I ever had and was a very good card. As far as FPS go even for my new monitor it would have been plenty sufficient. I also think it looks very good and better than my current card. But the one difference is watts. In DooM my rooms gets uncomfortable. I can imagine what yours is doing FVB.

Yes it does get hot, I turn up my fans to 70% from 50% to keep things cool inside!

Re: Asus gtx 1080 strix

Yeah it is like having a fireplace in the room. It would be very welcome in the winter.

I really really liked my STRIX cards. My first was the 980 and I thought it was better than sliced bread. I had that card a while and really enjoyed it. Then the 980 Ti which was a beast and I really liked the pulsing logo. The 1080 is the performance per watt king though and with the Ti cooler it is also a beast. I plan on keeping it for a very long time. I have already got such a great cooler on it. Best VGA HSF so far IMO. Then I got a nice GPUTweakII going with case fans as well and I am thinking of taking a second look at GameCaster. I might try and record some action.
