Re: Intel Coffee Lake

Yep, that would definitely be the one. A six-cylinder!

Re: Intel Coffee Lake

Well what is nice is the six core is reaching the heights of the X7XX mainstream CPU's. Way higher than the 5930K HEDT CPU. It is the future for mainstream.

Re: Intel Coffee Lake

I tell you what, my ears are picking up on this Coffee Lake. I like my current board and 8 core but as tech. progresses I would take a close look at going back to mainstream next time. The reason is HEDT is getting farther and farther out there with 8-16 cores while mainstream is getting to where HEDT use to be (6 cores). I really like the efficiency of the mainstream chipsets and also, CL is suppose to have 26-28 PCI lanes which is sufficient for what most everyone has in their system here (1 video card, 1 PCIe SSD, 1 audio card).

Re: Intel Coffee Lake

Heh, my system is getting wonky lately, if I can't figure out what's at fault (looking like a board problem) then I'll be looking at Coffee Lake and Ryzen. I guess running a system for 8 years overclocked is a bit too much!

If I get Coffee Lake, I'll probably buy a hexacore from Silicon Lottery, not point losing 10-20C on lame Intel thermal goop.
