Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Yeah if I were to go back to a HSF for the CPU I would probably go with Noctua. I think the 120mm would do fine as I never really stress the CPU. I use to have fixed running case fans. I adjusted them to the max rpm I wanted to tolerate noise wise and left them and my CPU fan was PWM controlled. That was a good way to cool a system. But nowadays, I have recently moved over to letting the video card control airflow which I think is a better idea. My case gets quite a bit louder now during benches as the external case fans all rise but I kind of appreciate it. All the knit-picking I do with cooling does not matter much, it is just a fun hobby.

Yeah if I had a X99 board being able to show off all that beautiful Corsair Platinum ram, water cooling is a must, and like you said I never stress my rig anymore so the 120 ML Corsair fan is plenty!

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

I did several OC tests of my video card and hardly budged my score but the new 8 cores shot me up over 8K.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-5960X,ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

My previous best was 7756 on an OC'd 5930K. My CPU test score went from 23FPS to 30FPS. I am well into 4K gaming ability if it mattered.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Still kind of surprised the octo-core shot up almost 300pts at 3.9Ghz vs. the hex-core at 4.5GHz.

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Yeah I am really set to keep my CPU alone at TPUII 3.9GHz max on all cores. I get a good snappy Windows performance, solid dependability and max temps in the 70's. My CPU will do 4.5GHz on all cores reliably but I don't want the heat or any possible hiccups. Benchmarks are better than my last CPU which was at 4.5GHz.

Well my score is higher than my 4790K overall by 700 points, the big difference is the cpu score...over double and just a 200 points less than Skully's 10 core monster at 9523 compared to my 9328...very happy...by the way there's a new HWMonitor out just today!

Re: Post your 3DMark Time Spy 1.0 score here!

Very nice score GW. I was getting 6162 with my STRIX GTX 1070 here.

When you finish the benchmark and the results get posted you need to go to the 'RESULT DETAIL' bar and click it. Inside you will find a 'COPY URL' link. This is what you need to copy and post in here. It contains all the benchmark, system, and software/driver details plus lets you compare to any another system (mine for example). Check out my link above.

You can get an apples to apples comparison. Something as small as a different video driver or CPU clock can make a difference when you share the same video card with someone.

For example, I looked back at Skully's since we have the same mobo/CPU. I actually got a higher CPU than he did and his CPU was OC to 5GHz. But, he killed me in the score because he has a 1080 Ti. I can tell it was the 1080 Ti that beat me and not the 1080 Ti plus his OC'd CPU.

So moral of the story is post your 3DMark link or your 3DMark test number so we can look it up.

Thanks!
