If you use File History you might want to find a replacement for it too, from what I've read this fall update MS is taking out the file History and for the resaon why is your guess is good has mine...DUMB MS!

A bit more upscale. I use this with Dropbox.

Re: What Are Some of the Coolest Utilities You've Found

Hey FV. Yeah I read that too about file history. They have since put it back in their preview builds. I believe because of the upcoming placeholder features in OneDrive it may have an effect on FH. It's possible they will get rid of it entirely and force people to use Onedrive and of course pay for the extra storage space.

I had too many issues with OneDrive. I prefer to pay for Dropbox Plus. Use my AMEX points to pay for it annually.

My alternative to FH would be to use GoodSync with the option to save deleted files for a certain period of time.

Thanks Jim I will check out Goodsync, my File History file is about 60 gigs, I really don't want to pay for storage, I would rather buy a Hard drives...

Re: What Are Some of the Coolest Utilities You've Found

Well I just found this windows snipping tool in W10, instead of the old way of using the PrtSc key and paint to save a web page or just part of a webpage. Its under Windows Accessories and called the snipping tool. I put it into my taskbar and when you click on it, a popup comes up and lets you do what you want and save it in .PNG or .Jpeg....I know most of you already know this tool but this old dog learned a new trick....lol

Re: What Are Some of the Coolest Utilities You've Found

I have a new one I just got yesterday its called f.Lux, it automatically adjusts brightness of your monitor according of what time of day. Usually my monitor in the mornings feel like it's burning a hole right through my eyes but this morning the brightness was turned down about half of normal. So far so good, Here's a link to this little tool, all you have to do is enter your zip code so it will know when its sunrise or sunset so it know how to adjust your monitor.

f.lux: software to make your life better

By the way I've been looking at getting a pair of computer glasses that block blue light, I need 1.75 readers, right now its between Felix Grays or Gunnar Readers.

Jemison Details - Felix Gray Computer Glasses

Readers - GUNNAR Computer Eyewear

Re: What Are Some of the Coolest Utilities You've Found

BTW, I mentioned it before Windows has a blue light special at 9PM. You enable it at the top in Display Properties. My ROG monitor has I believe 5 settings for white/blue balance.

I keep my blinds pulled in my office.

Edit: Well I went to look at this program since it was free and it looks honest. What got me thinking was if this would do a graduation and it does. Windows is two settings only and comes on at a fixed time. Like I said above, I keep my blinds pulled but I thought it would work better near the sunset when I have no light at all. Anything to help ones eyes, thanks FVB. I even ran the performance benchmark if you guys want to compare. Don't know what it is talking about really lol.
