Urgent Help ! Bought Online Seagate ST4000DM005 instead got ST4000DM004....Bad ???

Hello Guys,

I just ordered a 4TB SEAGATE ST4000DM005 hard disk drive and instead got a ST4000DM004 !

Is this bad ? I tried googling it and doing some research before asking here, But i couldnt find a clearcut spec sheet for DM004 some sites say its 7200rpm, some say its 5400rpm and some say its got 256mb cache instead of 64mb.

So im looking for some feedback on the real specs of this HDD if anybody here can help me.

Thanks in advance.

You should get what you ordered but I would look at the specs of both. You might have a newer model which is better.

The seller wasn't responding at all when asked for an explanation. Several notifications later Amazon stepped in and found him non responsive too. So they gave me a full refund and told me i could keep the disk and not return it.

Thats a great outcome for you, although too bad Amazon had to wear the loss.
I wonder if the seller made an honest mistake when they advertised it or were just scamming the system.

I offered to return it if they wanted to pick it up. But they said no. That item was a NON RETURNABLE category and ill have to keep it or dispose of it as i deem fit. The seller was too cocky to have made a mistake. He wasn't replying at all despite several messages. I cant go out of my way to argue with them. Amazon even took time to ask if the seller would like to pick up the item and he wasn't responding. Ignoring to communicate is as good as scamming the system. I don't think amazon took a hit in this.

I dont think ill ever get to use that disk. Its just too slow an RPM which is why i was very unsatisfied from the beginning.
