One thing about these displays right above the video card is they only way you can see them is if you buy and AIO cooler. A large HSF or a VGA waterblock with hoses coming out will block this thing. I am already planning on running tubes/hoses around it.

I should be able to see it with the setup I have now, I can see the republic of gamers red led just below the cpu socket now, if I had the 140mm cooler it would be a no go!

Yeah, I see that after I posted that it and the video card slot are moved down some. Do you have a pick of yours?

Yeah you can see it. My case is on the floor and you really don't see anything except the ROG logo on the video card. Your case is very clean looking, do you clean it often or do you just have a dust free house?

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

I still plan on getting this mobo. I have quit debating HEDT vs. Mainstream and also which mobo to get. I know I don't need a high wattage HEDT system any longer. Even though today was a hit learning about the i7-8700K only having 16 lanes I can get by with having an M.2 SSD. The only card slots I need are the 16X VGA and a 1X PCI 2.0 slot for my Essence STX card.

I just cleaned my front filter yesterday, but I have a positive pressure setup and over a $100 of dust filters every where on my case. Check out my Corsair 540 case thread it shows what I did...

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

My whole office gets filthy, have a dog always laying down on the floor.

I am disappointed in the i7-8700K PCI lanes but it doesn't effect me really. I was planning on putting an M.2 SSD out of side under the mobo. All I need is 16X 3.0 for my GTX 1080 and 1X 2.0 for my Essence audio card. In fact, the Intel 750 used 22W and the 960 Pro less than 5W. I am set on getting a cooler mainstream system. I do not need an HEDT monster to do what I do at home. My main focus is going to be on cooling my video card.

Re: ASUS -- ROG Maximus X Formula

I looked at buying your case the other day. I wanted to try to make it a nice showpiece on my desk but there is not enough room in the front of your case for a radiator.

Maybe we'll have a surprise tomorrow when the NDA is over on the the 8700k and the 370 motherboards.

The top should have room? I know a AIO works in the front?
