Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

I am going to give these a go.

M2 Bookshelf Speakers | Axiom Audio

Just waiting on a reply from Axiom.

These are what I've been looking for in a speaker to replace my Audioengine P4's. I would like a slightly larger speaker than the P4 but have all the attributes the P4 had like wall mounting, great sound, and efficient. From the reviews this speaker has a neutral aspect and good clear sound. Really, they have to be good speakers for me to consider trading out my Audioengine P4's and these appear to be it.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Not sure yet, either black or rose. I am not paying more for a custom wood at least until I have tried them. BTW, they have these for $395 at the factory outlet which is where I am looking into buying them. The company offers a 30-day trial so if I don't like them I can return them.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Going to give these a shot, got the rosewood. Free shipping for $396 total and a 30-day audition. Nice thing is they mount the same way my P4's mount. If these don't work then I will probable get the Audioengine HD6's. Those are much larger and in a different category compared to Audioengines P4/A5's.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Thanks FVB, yeah I think they will. This company resembles Audioengine a lot in their speaker design, cabinets, audio reviews, and business practice. The point is I want a larger speaker around the 5" woofer, 1" tweeter range and these fit the bill. I most likely would have gotten the A5's if they were passive. If these don't work out though I am going to the Audioengine HD6 and calling it quits. That is a very nice speaker and I would get it but it is pushing the size limit, I would have to redesign my mounts, and it will just about render my amp inadequate.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Got these last week and tried them out Friday. Been busy with a father in law death Saturday/funeral yesterday. I did not like the speakers. They looked and felt excellent and they would have hooked right up to my existing wall mounts. The thing is the port in the back really effected the audio differently than what I am use to with the Audioengine speakers. There was like a hollow echo coming from the rear and also the tweeter was more pronounced. I am afraid the HD6's may have this issue with a rear port but it is a slit, not a large circular baffle tube like the Axioms. I am working to return these and I will be picking up a set of HD6's.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Sorry to hear about your father in law....never good! To bad about the axiom's, did you try them on just the desk top to see now they would sound in the open?

Thanks, it was a rough past 4 days. I finally took a break today.

Just tried them on the desk. It was not a good test but I didn't really want to try to get accustomed to them after I didn't like the first impression. I would rather stick with my P4's but I am giving one more set a shot, it is the Audioengine HD6's. I would have gotten them right off but I have to design a mount for these boys.

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Sorry to read of the passing of your father in law, you have my condolences.
Speakers can be a tough thing to get right, without hearing them first...

Re: Axiom M2 bookshelf speakers.

Thanks guys, family is still trying to cope.

Well I got free shipping labels from Axiom to ship the M2's back even after I told them I would pay for it. I went ahead and ordered a new set.
