Steam Game Drive

Well I found out after I reinstalled Windows and installed Steam that it wasn't as smooth as I was expecting.

I installed Steam and logged in and checked that my game download directory was still in fact set to my 960 Pro E:\Gaming drive. You will see in your game library that it shows (greyed) the games you have installed. But you will basically have to go through the rigmarole of assigning a new desktop shortcut for each game and then run it which it behaves like it is the first time you have ran it. For example, I had to use a registration key, assign a new profile, set the online password, fool with keyboard and video settings, etc. until I could get UT3 Black Edition running again. The same with all the rest of the games.

The one plus was, I did not have to download any of the games and DooM is like 67GB's. Aside from saving the download, you have to go through every other step of running the game for the first time.

Morale of the story, try reinstalling Windows as little as possible.
