Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Thanks FVB, I needed to print to a PDF but could not find the printer. I thought I had it before. I bought Acrobat 9.0 Pro but Adobe won't let me use it any longer.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Well I installed Acrobat 9 Pro and now have a printer.

In other news. I had an unknown device in DM and searched on the HW ID and came up with CPU gen 6 Turbo 3.0

Intel® Turbo Boost Max Technology 3.0

I installed the driver and now I have this app.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

It's called "Microsoft Print to PDF". If it had the option to encrypt the file the way OSX does, I would surely uninstall Adobe Acrobat XI Pro!

It should be listed under Devices and Printers. May also need to check your Default Programs and File Associations in Control Panel.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Thanks Jimmy, I got it.

Capture2.JPG

I got Acrobat 9.0 Pro installed and registered but I could not update it. There is really a limit to support with Adobe and you basically can't use their product any longer.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Thanks Jim, I am set up with Acrobat Reader DC and that MS print to pdf printer now.

My new system is doing very well. I am glad GW saw my video card speed and now I have also checked out my SSD speed. Thought I was going to have to change slots for the SSD because of low AS-SSD scores but all is good.

This processor would normally due 3.6GHz/3.8GHz Turbo but since it has Turbo 3.0 it does 4.0GHz on core #1 and 3.8GHz on all the rest. Core #1 is the one that always goes to 4GHz and I believe because it is the most efficient and or coolest. I don't believe I have to have Turbo 3 driver installed for the CPU to run at 4GHz but it gets rid of a missing driver file in DM.

Glad you got it sorted out. For PDF's I use Nitro Pro 10. It was nice to cleanout all of Adobe's crap on my rig.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Still having some start up issues. Boot code gets stuck at 6F (System Agent DXE Initialization). This mobo is going through teething right now and I believe I have a beta BIOS running.

Mobo and card look too too cool and I am not exaggerating. Go to any new STRIX review at NE for the GTX 1080 or 1070 and read reviews. See how many times the LED logo gets mentioned and all say is it awesome. Now add the RVE10 LED and that is what I mean by cool. If you get in close and witness the bright colors it looks awesome. The card logo is like a white double shot ABS window but if you look elsewhere where the light spills out it is a bright color like the old Christmas incandescent bulbs that were colored glass, not painted. Plus you see a pallet of colors always changing. It will go from 100% blue and fade into 100% orange. I am going to have to get a mirror put on my office door so I can see in my computer chair and watch it lol.

Thanks Jim, I am keeping things as basic and easy as possible.

One thing I recommend when doing an install is doing a clean sweep of your SSD. I forgot to do that this time but I am not sure if I can on my PCIe SSD. I think you need an AHCI SSD to do it.

Sandog, I believe this has to do with the Computer trying to boot from a network drive on a Lan.

Check your boot settings ... and make sure any setting for booting from lan is disabled.

You know check the boot order...boot from CD, boot from HD, boot from PCI-e..., floppy etc.

You might have had boot drive on your PCI-e card that might have fallen through for some unknown reason... then went through all your boot options till it came to boot from network.

My guess.. but pretty sure (99%) the message means you trying to boot from network.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Hey GW, thanks for the reply. I only have one boot option under the boot menu and it is windows boot manager. It use to have windows boot manager (samsung 950 pro) and under it my ASUS DVD and others but not any longer. It is booting fine.

The problem is here I believe. It is a bF not a 6F.

Asus X99 Issue? - Troubleshooting - Linus Tech Tips

ASUS X99 Motherboard Series - Official Support Thread (North American users only) - Page 415

I am having the issue because I use sleep. It is something ASUS will correct down the line. I am not messing with incrementing voltages. I will stop using sleep until the next BIOS update.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

I didn't tell you about the saga with the USB driver I got. It has some sort of tape file system and you cannot access the files on it. You are suppose to stick it in the PC when you installed the mobo and it loads drivers. There are no instructions for it at all. I was told to return my mobo to get a new USB stick. I said no thank you.

Re: Asus ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10

Well I did not intend on getting the i7-6850K but I saw it on sale at MicroCenter for only $499 so I put my 5930K up for auction for grins and It was bid on in the second day. Anyhow, I was committed to buying the CPU without even studying it much. Typically an Intel die shrink makes the next model go up 100MHz but the 6850K actually went up 300MHz due to Turbo Boost 3.0. I am glad I got it.
