Re: *** Rampage- 3 -Extreme ***

My Indigo Extreme 2 patch kit showed up the Friday. Applied the first one.
All went well, I'm not going into details as you/Sandog did so well with.
iIt did give me a couple Celsius cooler then M-4. I took the first
one off to look at it. It had a good even flow. Strange thing it stuck to
the water block rather then the cpu. The second one seems to be working
ok. So anywho that's the rest of the story...

Re: *** Rampage- 3 -Extreme ***

Good job Skully, I hope you are happy with the results. Did you get the same results both times? Most of my IE stuck to the CPU but I have a nickel water block. The heat spreader on the CPU is very smooth IMO. It may not be flat but it is relatively smooth and non-porous. You can notice it because it is easy to clean. Anyway, there are a lot of tryers on the net and some say you have get at or beyond 100C which is what I try to do. That might be hard for your big chip.

My CPU temps are still running pretty good. Better than what I had with MX-4.

Thanks, a wee better temps first time. I'm oK with the results of IE. Its just
plain hard to get great cooling with these big cpu's. But my oc's 4600-4700
run stable and that's what counts... These big cpu's top temp is 91c.
Yep ya have some nice temps...

Hey Skully, I think it works better than grease I've used sofar. I will try and remember to get a patch for Haswell on a virgin chip.

It does work better then grease if applied right. But if ya change cpu's out
often, then its back to grease...

Re: *** Rampage- 3 -Extreme ***

Been a while since this thread was brought up but this was also the R3F thread. I am having an issue with my case fans plugged into the case fan headers on my mobo. In BIOS, I have Q-fan enabled for the case fans. I then have the following selections for fan speed: Silent, Standard, & Turbo. No matter which setting I choose my fan speeds do not change. I am almost positive this worked a long time ago so I don't know if it is a BIOS bug or not. The 12V line to the fans should change and it shouldn't matter if I am using a 3pin or 4pin fan connector. The 4th pin is only for PWM.

If anyone has an Asus mobo and is using the chassis fan headers I would appreciate some advice.

Thanks,
Sandog
