Nvidia Introduces the GTX 770!

Just found this the GTX 770 which is said to be faster than a GTX 680 for $399...Here's the story.

NVIDIA announces GeForce GTX 770 for under $400, says it's faster than last year's GTX 680

Found this too, you can flash your 680 to a 770 with a custom bios...

Re: Nvidia Introduces the GTX 770!

Saw this this morning when I was on EVGA and NE. This puts a big damper on selling my GTX 670

EVGA has several versions of the 770 including a reference and superclocked version with the ACX cooler. Might be a possibility.

Re: Nvidia Introduces the GTX 770!

I looked over the GTX 770 tonight and I don't see much. The only thing good being a GTX 680 cost $550 last year and you can get the same performance for around $400+ with the GTX 770. The card itself is short on memory and according to Anand the new Xbox has 8GB of RAM which games will be designed for it and then ported to the PC. It is also a hotter card than the GTX 680. Point being if you have a GTX 680 you get nothing with the GTX 770.

Re: Nvidia Introduces the GTX 770!

Other good news about the GTX 770 is EVGA makes a stock version with the new ACX cooler as well as a SC version with ACX. IMHO, I wouldn't touch a 680/770/780 without this cooler or one similar.

I know the 2 fan coolers by all companies are very nice, EVGA, MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte (3 fan), my Asus 570 has been very good never have heard the fan unless I turn it up past 70% which it never reaches playing a game.

Re: Nvidia Introduces the GTX 770!

The dual fan coolers from all the manufacturers for the 7XX series are improved. I have an old ASUS 560Ti card at work and it has small fans.

If you are interested take a look at these pics closely to see how well the heat sink is made for the EVGA card. The heat sink and board plate are very well constructed.

Here on the 2nd to last pic you can see how thin the whole card is.
