Unhappy suse linux network cards

hi all!!

Can anyone help?? I'm trying to install netgear network card driver into suse 7.1 from a floppy (oo-er!) seems I have to compile it or summit. I can't get into gcc though

Anyone help?? A step by step guide could be useful!!!!!

Hi, Col

I don't use SuSe, however, the UNIX/Linux related aspects would be all basically the same and I may be able to help you with that.

Unless, the drivers for your card are in RPM or similar format, then you will most likely need to compile the drivers yourself.

Before I can try to help you, it would help a lot to know, what exactly do you mean by your statement of:

"I can't get into gcc though"
Answer that and I may have a better idea what the problem is.

have you tried just running yast or yast2?
it's been a while for me, but i thought that was where you could reconfigure that stuph...
