I'd invite everyone to list their fave apps here. If we get a few I'll format a thread dedicated to it.

I just saw this, sorry for the late response.
Radeonized2, I can assure you that I didn't mean anything sinister by that comment. I can now see how it could be read and apologise for it.

It's just my sense of humour. You do sometimes link to Teaktown, but i dont have an issue with it, they're a big site and sometimes will have topics of interest. If I had an issue with you linking to them I would have PM'd you about it a long time ago, believe me. When I wrote that I was smiling to myself, sorry it came across badly.

A while back there was a bit of a dust up over linking to other forums, when there was a different admin. I don't have the same view. I think linking can be useful if the topics are relevant, genuine and interesting, especially for news items, and I don't believe members will leak away for that reason alone. I believe the opposite, that members will value the zone as a place to find useful resources. We have linked to many other sites with interesting threads in the past without the house falling down.

As for my post, I had a look at the thread you linked to, and i think I was a little unimpressed with the idea of a thread that seemed to list every tool under the sun. I would prefer to see a short list of highly recommended tools and thought that would make for a better thread. That wasn't meant as a criticism of your linking to it.

I hope that this explanation of my position will help. I will also have to moderate my comments more carefully going forwards, to avoid giving the wrong impression.

Re: Name it, you got it;

Nice apology Zap even though the reason for the apology wasn't too clear. Sometimes I think people get overly stressed which happens easily in this society. Hopefully Rad will come back and join us when things get better. In the meantime he should

Thanks Sandog. I just hope that I'm taken as sincere. I think if I write something that has the potential to cause offence to a member then I should apologise; even if it isn't clear-cut. In my role I'm not just representing myself, so it's appropriate that I'm extra sensitive to the viewpoint of others.

??? I don't understand why offence was taken either. I'm sure none was meant. BTW I like the link. It has all the greats in one convenient place. So jokes aside Rad, it was appreciated!
