P4S8X - C-Media AC97 Audio Driver

noticed the C-Media AC97 Audio driver provided by Asus for the P4S8X are not WHQL certified.

When I'm playing Morrowind I got some very weird noise that become very annoying. The audio setting for morrowind can be set to Hardware/Software.When I'm using software the strange noise will stop but the game will crash randomly. The tech support from morrowind said to download the lastest Audio driver.

The same weird effect happen with everquest , the sound will start to drive me nut.

Some other game like UT2003 , Army Operation , etc. will not have
any weird noise effect.

Anyone know where I can find a WHQL Certified C-Media Audio Driver.

Can we disable the onboard audio and use a regular Audio card ?

I checked the Microsoft catalog and the driver C-Media 9739A doesn't exist.

Hey. Just saw an updated driver for this onboard sound (at MSI though). Try it out http://download.msi.com.tw/support/dvr_exe/973952.exe

I saw it up to 028, but if you get the latest one named:
C-Media multimedia software update released on May 23 2003. - (Posted Date: June 16, 2003) it should be 032.

Again, you can also download the msi one above
