Google Memo

I've just been reading about the so called Google's Ideological Echo Chamber or Google Memo and what happened to James Damore, a young former Google employee.

I hadn't noticed this before, not being a user of Google and not too interested in them. I know they have tendrils into everything, but I haven't used the search engine or any of their apps directly on privacy grounds for several years now.

This was just atrocious behaviour by Google. Absolutely disgusting.
It just goes to show that even at the cutting edge of "coolness" and technological innovation that a company such as a Google claims to be that this kind of thing can still happen.

This young fellow was by all accounts an ideal employee and Google fan boy but was sacked for writing something that went against their HR policies. Not only that, but everything he put in support of his position aligns to the current scientific literature, i.e.: what he said was scientifically supported and sound.
He was sacked for stating scientific facts or well supported propositions!

Wow. So I guess we now know that in the hypothetical future when Google rules the Earth then we may all be censored when we say something that doesnt align with their views?

Just gobsmacking.
